What are you looking at?
Two of the most important things I have learnt about selling is to convey the value and worth of your product or service and to connect with people on an emotional level. One very impactful way you can do that is with images.
Images are one of the strongest ways you can connect with your customers because people are visually stimulated and incentivised. If you think about it what would attract your attention the quickest? Text audio video or an image? Studies have shown that people respond more emotionally to images than any other media. And emotion is key to selling. Images have a huge impact because of their ability to tell a story and share a message in an instant. Images are very quickly processed by people and have the ability to draw us in.
We live in a world where time seems ever shorter and people are increasingly busy. So if you want to capture your audience’s attention you better do it quickly! In fact the word on the street is that young people don’t even have the time to write 140 characters in twitter anymore and have moved to Pinterest where they can simply post an image to tell a story or share a message in an instant.
Images are incredibly powerful tools creating conversations about your brand by getting people to share your images. Facebook alone has 4.75 Billion items shared daily as of May 2013. If you would like to get in on the shared content action, make it engaging by adding a tip or quote to your image that is related to your business.

Make the most of social media, today not being on social media is in almost every case as fatal as not having a website. I don’t know of any business would ever dream of not having a website, it is key to reaching out to people and now social media has become apart of that too, so if you think you don’t need to and that your website is enough, think again. Here are some statistics courtesy of Socialy Sorted to convince you:
- You Tube passes 4 billion views daily
- Instagram passes Twitter for daily active mobile users in August 2012: 7302000 – instagram vs 6868000 – twitter
- Pinterest is now the 4th biggest traffic driver worldwide
- Photos on FB generate 53% more likes than the average post
