Product review on Of The Earth Superfoods on the go cereal pot
Last week I attended the Lunch! exhibition at the Business Design Centre in London. It is a multi award winning event and is growing in popularity very quickly. If you are in a food related business this show is well worth visit. I enjoy networking with traders and finding out what is coming onto the market. One little product that I came across was a delicious oat based cereal to have on the go by OTE Superfoods.
Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day and so I do love a good breakfast that you can have on the go when there just isn’t time to sit down to it because I’m rushing out the door to a photo shoot. I can enjoy breakfast any time of the day too, it doesn’t have to be the am! Most on the go breakfast items tend to be either bars, of which not very many are actually very good for you, or yoghurt based ones, which although I do love wouldn’t be very helpful for those who are on a dairy free diet or if there is no way of keeping it cool until it’s eaten. So this little number that I found at the Lunch! show interested me very much.
It’s a great little pot packed with goodness; 50% superfoods and 50% fine milled gluten free organic oats. There are three different varieties named Power of Red, Green or Brown all gluten, dairy and nut free. I had the Power of Red made with strawberries, goji and beetroot. Yum! To make it ready to eat, just add either hot or cold water, give it a good mix, wait 20 – 30 seconds before tucking in! It comes with a plastic compost-able spoon inside and the pot is completely recyclable.
I added hot water to mine and was surprised at how tasty it was without a dairy product in it. It was packed with great flavour and it kept my energy levels up for ages. I filled my water to the line but found it was still quite thick so I gradually added a little more until I had a consistency I was happy with. The only negative I have to say on the product is that the plastic spoon supplied is not very strong. Maybe it was because I was using hot water but as I was stirring I could feel the spoon bending allot. I gave up and used a metal teaspoon instead.
All in all I really loved this product and will definitely be seeking out the other varieties to try.
