Darbaar Indian Restaurant Launches Lotus Bar
Modern Indian fine dining restaurant by Abdul Yaseen has recently refurbished it’s cocktail lounge. Whether you are dining in the restaurant or not, the Lotus bar is definitely worth a visit. Close to London Liverpool Street Station Lotus bar offers something a little different. The new cocktail menu features spice infused spirits and unique Indian twists on old classics. Having tried a few of their new concoctions I was quite enticed. I often find cocktail menus repeating themselves with many of them over sweet. This was not the case at Lotus. Their cocktails were exotic and refreshing. It took a little getting used to having coriander in my drink but one I’d be happy to revisit.
The cocktail menu includes exciting combinations such as;
Haldi Margherita: a heady mix of tequila and triple sec, shaken with orange, lime and turmeric (haldi).
Kala Jamuntini: combines the flavours of black plum (jamun) with gin, orange and lime.
Lotus Collins: this one gets the Darbaar twist with refreshing coriander, mint and chilli.
It’s worth ordering a few bar snacks too. The high standard of food quality is upheld in their delicious nibbles. Highlights include Gilafi Lamb Sheekh Kebab, Dessi Chili Chicken and Organic Salmon, Coconut and Kokum. If you are tempted to stay for dinner, which I recommend, check out my review on the Darbaar restaurant.
There’s plenty to keep you entertained too. On the first Thursday of every month, evenings will be hosted by Rachel Rose who has featured on The Voice and Late Night Live. Lotus will be showcasing an array of young vocal talent. So soak up the elegant atmosphere, be entertained and enjoy exclusive offers such as 2-4-1 cocktails and complimentary canapés.
