Entice your lover with these five sexy food ideas
Add a few of these five sexy food ideas to a valentine’s meal, if love is in the air perhaps these tasty healthy foods will add another dimension to a romantic evening. If nothing else they taste great and will certainly provide some wholesome nourishment.
Oysters
Oysters have long since had a reputation for being an aphrodisiac. It worked for Casanova, or perhaps he was just an extremely charming and attractive man with an over active libido! Certainly, oysters have high zinc levels and some rare amino properties that are very good for us, so why not include them. Enjoy them raw with just a little lemon juice and salt. Swallow whole for a silky slippery sensation in the mouth and throat. Or add a little spice and heat with a dash of tabasco. They are also delicious lightly grilled topped with a little finely grated good quality cheese such a parmesan or similar.
Chocolate
Cacao has been heralded as food from the Gods with extremely high levels of antioxidants. It contains a chemical that stimulates excitement and well-being. Chocolate is made from Cacao beans, look for a good quality dark chocolate, not the cheap loaded with sugar kind. Sweeten it off by melting it and dipping in some sweet fruits such as strawberries. Or if you are feeling a little more adventurous try Anna Jones’ Raw Brownies recipe or this easy Raw Cacao Fudge recipe.
Pumpkin Seeds
Like oysters these bad boys are loaded with zinc, as well as pro libido vitamins B, C, D and K, alongside minerals calcium, potassium, niacin and phosphorous. Save the seeds from a squash, rinse clean then roast in the oven for a few mins after coating in a little olive oil, salt and pepper. They make a delicious moreish snack or sprinkle on top of a salad.
Celery
This is a surprising one, according to some experts it increases the pheromone levels in a man’s sweat making them more attractive to women. Chop it up into little pieces for an enjoyable and healthy dipping stick to a salsa or humous. Alternatively, roast it in the oven, I love this Jamie Oliver recipe for Celery Alla Parmigiana which is easy to make a vegetarian version from or simply add to stews and soups.
Sweet Potatoes
This delicious versatile vegetable is packed with potassium which helps lower high blood pressure, associated with erectile disfunction. Sweet potatoes are also rich in beta-carotene which provides the body with plenty of Vitamin A boosting fertility by promoting better cervical fluid. Sweet potatoes can be used in a tone of different ways but a firm favourite of mine is homemade chips. Simply cut into wedges or thinner sticks as liked, coat in a little olive oil salt and pepper. Roast in the oven for around 20 minutes. Sprinkle on sesame seeds or paprika for a little extra interest.
Sharing food in the company of others has long since been binding connection that brings people together. Perhaps one or two of these five sexy food ideas will add a little extra spice to a romantic evening.
