A highland lass braving the streets of London armed with a camera and a broad smile
Although Rhowena MacCuish is Scottish born and bred she currently lives and works in London as a professional food photographer and not the prancing ballerina she thought she would become as a child. She confesses to being a country bumpkin at heart and having grown up on farms she feels very close to the food on her plate.
With a good eye for composition, and a taste for delicious ethical food, Rhowena MacCuish delivers mouth watering imagery good enough to eat and is passionate about getting people excited about food. Rhowena also writes a monthly column for the award winning magazine LoveEast on food related projects that support the environment and the local communities of East London.
London Food Photographer, Rhowena MacCuish, is telling tasty stories for lots of food businesses both large and small. Rhowena has helped independent businesses win commercial contracts. For example Trina’s Delicacies won her first commercial contract with Whole Foods after hiring Rhowena to photograph her delicious cakes. She gives testament that the professional food photography helped to sell her how great her products were in her pitch.

The first thing I’ll say about Rhowena MacCuish is that she is a joy to work with. Professional, personable, and her photos are stunning. Rhowena is a highly talented photographer and she has taken fantastic photos of me, a terminally camera-shy person. I can’t recommend her work highly enough. She knows how to get the best from her subjects…. she is truly a great talent.
Rhowena was a pleasure to work with and flexible on her pricing structures to suit our small floristry business. She was organized, on time and brought all her own kit, with a pc link up to view images immediately, as well as providing photo editing services afterwards. We received our final images promptly via memory stick and have used them on a variety of marketing media. Fantastic, will use again!
Rhowena captured our Waste Not Want Not event perfectly in every aspect. Translating the ethos of the event, the fun, relaxed atmosphere and the detail of the food into pictures.
Rhowena is a pleasure to work with on a personal level as well as being the ultimate organised professional, which ensures every detail is covered and executed to create the best possible result.
I recently hired Rhowena/Scrumptious Food Photography to do a photo shoot of our cakes and cupcakes. I was thoroughly impressed with how flexible Rhowena was in terms of my schedule. Most importantly, the photos were absolutely great. I genuinely believe that they made a huge improvement to my website and added credibility to my marketing efforts. I highly recommend Scrumptious Food Photography to anyone or any business in need of professional food photography.
Rhowena recently photographed a selection of my canapés to be included on my website. She was very professional and I was extremely pleased with the resulting photographs.
She arrived at my kitchen with a selection of lights and equipment as well as an interesting variety of props for the shoot. We spent a while discussing my requirements and I was impressed that she let me make suggestions as to how I wanted the canapés to look.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Rhowena as a very professional photographer.
