When Rebecca Michael of Compliments Catering agreed to work with me I was delighted to help her in promoting her business and gaining the trust of prospective new clients with some delicious photography of her canapes. It also struck me just how wonderful and important networking is to small businesses.
I came into contact with Rebecca around six to eight months ago after I had taken a deep breath and forced myself into attending networking evenings. I was quite grateful for the small size of the local group I attended on my very first encounter of such evenings and found it easy to mingle and strike up conversation with people. The small size of the group meant I had spoken to everyone at least once if not twice within a two hour period, which at the time felt quite intense but invigourating.
I got talking to two very charming fellows who were old hats at the networking game and seemed very relaxed in the environment. They were kind enough to introduce me not only to an excellent networking group of which I am now a member of BNI, but also to Rebecca Michael of Compliments Catering.
When I finally met Rebecca in August of this year we got along tremendously, her warm friendly personality made her easy to talk to and a delight to work with. On my return from honeymoon we set a date in the diary for the photoshoot. I packed up my kit and props in the car and drove over to her house where we planned to take the shots in her large kitchen. It turned out Rebecca lives just a five minute drive away from me in SW London. We spent the afternoon photographing her delicious cute canapes which she serves at corporate functions, parties and private events. We worked fast and managed to get through nine different sets in an afternoon! It was great fun and Rebecca had a keen eye for style and great attention to detail, which helped me out tremendously. It is always such a great advantage to have an additional set of keen eyes checking that everything looks just so. We created several festive Christmas shots ready for the upcoming season and a few lighter, fresh feeling ones for the spring using cut flowers and lighter coloured backgrounds. Check out my portfolio for the finished images.
So the next time you need a friendly caterer who can satisfy your guests with some very tasty food just give Rebecca a call. I would also like to note just how important building relationships and generating new ones can be to the growth of any business. If you would like to discuss how I could help you to grow your business please do get in touch.
